Monday Morning Musings

Post by Lee Stephenson on November 21st, 2011

Yesterday we finished off our series on Pirates. It was a great series and I was blown away by how fast people got out into the lobby to get their free book. For those that missed out on the book the book that I gave away is called:

The Treasure Principle by Randy Alcorn

It is a great read on many of the things we talked about during the series and is definitely worth the read.  Yesterday we talked about 4 reasons that a generous life is a smart way to live.  Here were the points from yesterday:

1. Generosity Changes Lives

2. Generosity connects us to the lives of others

3. Generosity helps us make better use of our money…we care how we invest our money

4. Generosity opens the door to greater intimacy with God.

As we wrap up this series here is one last video to inspire you to live a generous life.  (You might recognize the family from the first video post)

Generosity is a life overflowing with care and concern for others!

Pirate Challenge: Think about who has blessed you with money or taught you how to handle it. Maybe it was your grandma, a parent or a family friend. Maybe it was your Financial Peace University coordinator. Whoever that person is in your life, drop them a note, make a call, or thank them the next time you see them.

Creatively design three clear jars and label them “Give, Save and Live”. Talk to your kids about the opportunity to invest their income in these three categories. Celebrate their decisions to give and save.
