Monday Morning Musings

by Lee on November 30th, 2009

- Great David Crowder video this past Sunday. Loved how it reminds us of God’s unrelenting love. Live Boldly now, knowing God will never let go. Video is below for those who didn’t get to see it!

- I noticed that there were no people waiting outside the theater this week to watch “New Moon.” (lol)

- I think I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder/back. Started to really aggravate me on Saturday night and made it hard to sleep. However, when I got up to preach it was gone. Came back last night and is still there today. But isn’t God good! I am always amazed at how things come together when His Word is being taught!!!

- Lots of new faces and new kids this Sunday!

- A big thanks goes to the five people who went out Saturday afternoon to some Microsoft training. They helped us secure a $5000 shopping spree at the new Microsoft store! (Awesome)

- Read 1 Kings 12 this week as a follow-up to this weeks sermon. Great illustration of someone who built his life on the wrong foundation. Let me know your thoughts if you get the chance!

10 “Non-deep” things I am thankful for…

by Lee on November 28th, 2009

In this season of thanksgiving, there are so many things that I am thankful for. Some of the more obvious things are my wonderful family, HCC and the people I get to work with on a regular basis, etc. But how often do we say thankful for all the little things in our lives. Below are 10 things that I am thankful for that really have no depth or spiritual value, but I find myself thankful to have these things in my life.

10. Living in AZ during the winter

9. My blackberry pearl

8. MacBook Pro (apple in general)

7. Cars that run

6. Having a bike rack on a car that runs

5. Our toaster oven

4. French pressed coffee

3. Chipotle burritos

2. 2010 Specialized Stumpjumper SS

1. Family and Friends

Monday Morning Musings (on Tuesday)

by Lee on November 24th, 2009

Well, it was a long weekend and a Monday full of meetings. So…I must apologize for not getting my Monday Morning Musings up yesterday. But look to the bright side, I have more to write about now!

- Turkey Bowl was awesome! Great turnout and of course…my team dominated!

- A big thanks go out to Andre for his willingness to leave half of his shirt on the field during the Turkey Bowl. (pictures are coming)

- Sunday was funny as I watched many of our men walk in with sore muscles.

- We went into Sunday morning not knowing what to expect with having it be opening weekend for “New Moon.” Overall, it was quite fun. And by the way, we had people waiting in line at 6:30 in the morning to get their tickets for the Sunday morning showing at 10. Funny thing was they weren’t interested in coming to our 8:30 service before the movie???

- Our 9:30 service was rocking! Our band did a superb job, but the real rocking came from the theater next to ours that was showing “New Moon.” That theater really has some good bass!

- Fantastic time at “Lunch with the Pastors” following the 9:30 service. If you haven’t had the chance to come get signed up for our next Lunch in January.

- Awesome Children’s video this Sunday. Great job Brian and Gus!

- As a result, we had a great sign-up for children’s ministry workers. Thanks for joining the team!

- Very excited to eat a lot this Thursday!

- See you this Sunday as we only have two more weeks left in the “One Month to Live” campaign. Why not invite someone to join you this week at Harvest?

- FYI: we have 90 people going to the Suns game on December 19th. How cool is that?

Monday Morning Musings

by Lee on November 16th, 2009

- Great Sunday! Attendance was up and I got to talk to a lot of new people. Always a high point of my day!

- Day 14 of One Month to Live is now behind us and today marks the half-way point of the OMTL challenge. How are you doing at living a life of no regrets?

- Any interesting stories from the past 15 days of the OMTL challenge? I would love to hear it if you have the time.

- Went a little long yesterday, but it is hard to talk short on forgiveness. Anyways…I thought you would forgive me!

- Saturday night was dismal as I watched the Irish blow another game!

- Can’t believe that the Colts got the win last night because of Coach B’s mistake. I guess nobody is perfect. (sorry Jeremy!)

- Great Mexico meeting last night. I heard nothing but great things. It is going to be an awesome trip and it is not too late to join the team.

- 76 tickets are now gone for our Night at the Suns. Get your tickets now…only 14 left.

- I am crazy excited about starting the Sock and Underwear drive to help out our friends at House of Refuge! We will have a box ready this Sunday to handle all the donations.

- Still laughing about watching Grace walk around Church in her orange vest. If you don’t know what this is all about…join the set-up crew and find out. We have a great time!!!

- Can’t wait for this Saturday’s Turkey Bowl! Always fun and hopefully I don’t get injured. See you Saturday.
